Teaming Up For the Germ Battle

!±8± Teaming Up For the Germ Battle

We are living in the 21st century. Medical science has advanced beyond bounds but so have diseases. Pollution in various facets of our life has made our survival a little difficult, yet we tread on merrily, never pondering to think what may be going wrong in our everyday lives. A fraternity of germs invades our homes, we are clueless against them. They are omnipresent. They are there on the kitchen utensils, tapestry, phone receiver, and outer walls of refrigerator, television, shoeboxes, and at all other such places. We live in denial because we can't see them. A microbial examination sends tremors in us. Sometime in our lives, a friend brings us a gadget through which we see the number of germs on our handkerchiefs and that is when we run out of fuse.

Germs at home are the cause for influenza (flu) and common cold. A million salmonella, E-coli and Staphylococcus make merry in our home environment. Apart from the cold and flu, they also cause a variety of food poisoning ranging from mild to fatal. There are such diverse findings about germs which will make us pass out. Desktops, the seemingly harmless machine can have as much as 21000 germs per square inch of its surface, phones are even bigger culprits. In fact it might sound strange; toilet seats have a far lesser germ content. A sneeze propels germ particles at a speed of 200 miles per hour. Now that is some speed! Common cold is generally treatable but still happens to be the commonest disease on earth lapping up the prize for being the cause of maximum school absentees. A statistic suggests that 164 million school days as a cumulative is lost annually to illness. Germs obviously are the chief wreckers.

A contaminated finger is in itself a bombshell. Because we are talking of micro organisms here, we do not even realize the scope of the contamination most of the times. (This very moment while working on my keyboard for the article, my hands might be pressing upon a million of such germs)

Pocket Purifier - Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light is a product which aims at killing germs through UV radiations. It has an internally constructed UV-C bulb which attack germs mercilessly on being turned on and flashed to the germ area. It kills the DNA of bacteria and stunts their further growth and multiplication.

It is constructed in 4 watt UV germicidal light and hence easily takes the fuse out of bacterial and viral multiplication. It is certified to be suitable for the home paraphernalia including telephone sets, baby toys, nail clippers, kitchen utensils, purifying masks and so on. It has a UV lid which disallows any harm that may be caused to the eyes.

It is handily usable. We need to first switch on the PP to "purifier" mode and then cast the light rays towards the germ area. We need to hold the instrument half to one inch away from the purification area for as less as 10 to 15 seconds. For cleaning up larger areas, it is important to place the PP in a small covered area (a foot to two feet at most) and leave for 15 to 20 minutes.
